Strategy: Day Prep, Night Execution
Every technique on this site splits into two halves — what you build during the day, and what you run at night. Here’s how they fit together.
By day
Nothing at night works without this half. Real intent, run with attention rather than as a mumbled ritual, and reality checks tied to genuine daily triggers. This is the part that has to become routine, not something you remember to do occasionally.
By night
Three combinations, roughly in order of how much they ask of you:
- WBTB + UA (the indirect technique). The lowest-effort combination and the strongest place to start — wake mid-cycle, stay still, run the five-step script.
- WBTB + UFA (WILD-style). Same wake-up, but instead of waiting for another natural drift, hold a single focused idea the way the red pill technique describes, and ride it straight into the dream.
- UA, then UFA.For experienced practitioners: run the indirect technique first, and if it doesn’t land, shift straight into a focused UFA attempt without getting up.
None of these night strategies work reliably without the day half already in place. That’s the whole strategy — build the daytime habit first, then pick whichever night combination matches how much effort you actually have that particular night.
